After more research, Zee learned that most bath bombs were made of some sort of oil, baking soda, cornstarch, a type of fragrance, and water. And something to make them bubble. That’s, like, six ingredients? No sweat! Zee thought excitedly.

The next day after school, Zee went to the local convenience store and bought her ingredients, then got some bath bomb molds from the art store. She also borrowed a bowl and a mixer from the dorm kitchen and brought them up to the bathroom. With an old T-shirt on and her ingredients laid out before her, Zee was ready. It was time to start experimenting.

After a few tries and a little mess in the bathroom, Zee created her first bath bomb. Now for the test, she thought as she put the round ball in a bowl of water in the sink. The bath bomb immediately bubbled in the water and turned a fruity-pink color, releasing a nice smell. When Zee dipped her hand in the tub, the water felt smooth and silky. Her hand felt soft from the oil she used in the mixture. Her mouth grew into a Cheshire cat–like grin.

“Eureka,” Zee declared like a mad scientist. “I’ve done it!”
